sportcentric was founded at the end of 1999 to serve the needs of international sport.  The company’s founder and CEO is Paul Nelson, an experienced sports and media industry executive, whose career includes positions with investment bank S.G. Warburg (now part of UBS),  youth entertainment company, MTV Europe, and the international sports marketing and media group, ISL Marketing A.G.

The company spent its first year developing its proprietary software platform, and from the launch of its first website at the beginning of 2001 has grown to a position of market leadership, having built and launched over 100 websites.

Operating from offices in London’s Holland Park, the company is privately-owned and over £2 million has been invested in developing its products and services.
